YellowPerch

For all my days in school I’ll be
There’s safety in numbers, you see
I’ve just hatched and I won’t last long
Unless I join the minnow throng

Near the shore with my new family
For all my days in school I’ll be
Summer has come and I’ve grown some more
My school swims farther off from shore

We migrate like the caribou
To seek out warmth in our lake blue
For all my days in school I’ll be
On the move is the way for me

At dusk and dawn we come to shore
Hunger for prey we can’t ignore
My fellow fish compete with me
For all my days in school I’ll be
