In the icy grip of winter
The forest seems to be asleep
Mother bear and her twin cubs
In cozy den nest in a heap
One snuggles under her chin
The other splayed out on her chest
Momma curled up in a ball
And so the bears rest
But the cubs soon wake her up
Rich milk they’re hungry for
So with her paw she gently guides them
To nurse on her some more
Noisy humming as they suck
Fills the den with sound
Momma bear sighs contentedly
In their cozy den underground
